The Wedding…
Our wedding day (and the whole experience) turned out better then I could have ever imagined. It was an emotional ceremony for myself. I had to keep looking at Merissa for strength. She was a rock through it all. And by rock, I mean a very beautiful bride, as many others have attested). Having Grandma walk me down the aisle was a great moment. Most of the ceremony was a blur to me, partly because I kept focusing on my vows, hoping not to forget them, and that focus paid off! While I may have been slow at delivering them, at least I got them out. Walking out of the church with my new bride beside me was the most fabulous moment of my life to date. The reception was a huge success. And I judge that based on all the smiles everyone was wearing. The staff at the Royal Glenora were fantastic, and certainly played a small part in pulling the night off. Merissa and I got stuck in the whole “tap your glasses and the newlyweds will kiss” thing, but we tried to keep it interesting! The speeches everyone gave really added to the night. I must say Mart, we were very touched by yours. The slideshow I put together was well received, with the expected laughs when the bats appeared. I have never danced so much in my life, but it was all good. The weather through the whole day was simply fantastic. Not too hot, and the rain stayed away. We are anticipating getting our final wedding pictures this weekend, and that will pretty much mark the end of the “wedding day” chapter in our lives. We look forward to writing the rest of the book together.
