Merissa + Macbook = ?
Today Merissa surprised me. She surprised me because she is becoming, ever so slowly, a bit more like me. You see, her and I compliment each other nicely. But we are quite different people. She is the methodical, organized, rational one, and I am… not those qualities. So when I up and buy a digital SLR camera like I recently did, it does not really surprise her. Annoy her, perhaps, but not surprise her.
Today she talked about buying herself Mac laptop. Now, if she needed a laptop, it would be a small surprise she would pick a Mac, but nothing too shocking. However, she does not need a laptop. She has a laptop, and she likes her laptop. She wants to buy a Mac laptop because it is cute and neat, not out of need. And while I might not describe my reasons for buying my dSLR camera as cute and neat, it was a purchase I wanted as opposed to needed. Merissa never does things she wants… just want is necessary.
So this must be a sure sign that we are starting to rub off on each other. Instead of wanting to buy whatever, maybe a new Zune, I am focused on getting our car paid off. So maybe we will trade hats for a while, she can buy the fun stuff, and I’ll focus on the nitty gritty items. Of course, only for a little while!
